Many members are cheerful. Most of our members are in their thirties, and we also have many in their twenties. We have 130 members in production at Itoigawa Plant. And we communicate with other section members while we take breaks. We can take paid vacation every year; when we take a vacation, we play hard, and when we work, we work hard! That is a kind of work place we work.
Engineering Management Section
Our responsibility
Our job is to optimize production processes. We are always considering how to efficiently manufacture while securing safety of our operators as well as improving products’ quality. Our major role is to create a stable production process considering production method and writing work instruction from the viewpoint of operators. Even a slight change in manufacturing condition, effects products’ finish and quality. So even our work is challenging, it is satisfying! We work a lot on the desk, but we also receive questions frequently about processes and machines from production members. In such cases, we go out to the production floor.
Atmosphere of our Section
Many of our members are concentrating on their job and working quietly. However, usually the atmosphere is open and friendly, so we can ask questions anytime. In the meetings, everybody, regardless of their job titles, can express their opinions openly. We call each other by last name (sometimes with -san) without titles, which means we treat each other as equals and it works well.
Quality Control Section
Our responsibilities
It is to guarantee our products’ quality for our customers. Our job is to take measures to prevent shipping out defective products, and to improve our products. When we find a defect, we have to think of a way to prevent that defect to happen again. We are always thinking how we can make better products by identifying issues from the results of inspections and reliability test. The analysis is done in the office, but we also go out on the production floor as needed. We spent about half of our time in the office and the rest on the production floor.
Atmosphere of our section
We are multi-generational team from twenties to sixties, and the ratio of male and female is 6:4. Everybody at Itoigawa is kind. In our open environment, it is easy to talk to others and easy to get advice from others. I joined company without any technical background, but because everybody is kindly teaching me, I can work without anxiety at all, and able to work with peace of mind.
