Obama Plant, located in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, has a history of more than 50 years in the region. The plant is responsible for the front-end process of thin film products, our main product, as well as production of prototype products. It is our company’s most important plant. In 2024, a new facility will start operating for our business expansion
Obama Plant’s responsibility
It is a plant for mass producing thin film chip resistors which is based on our core technology since the company’s foundation. Our thin film technology enables us to produce electronic components to meet every market’s advancing requirement. Some of R&D members are stationed at Obama Plant.

Attractiveness of our plant
Due to our compact size compared to factories of big companies, we have an easy to work environment where staff and workers as well as different sections are close by. We have variety of employees in many ways. Our products are requested from all over the world, and the entire plant has a lively atmosphere.
What we aim to be going forward
Currently, we are receiving orders from all over the world to be used in the most advanced technologies, and we are barely catching up with our orders. Thus, we always feel that we need to upgrade our level in various aspects. After 2024, our new facility will start operation, and expectations from our community and local government is increasing day by day. Therefore, we are determined to establish a solid new Obama Plant to meet such expectations.
Our responsibilities
We consider one of our important roles is to deliver required products in required specifications to our customers. It is important to respond to what is required in each process, but we also understand sustaining our production going is also equally important. It is critical for our production section to produce as many products as possible within a limited time.
Atmosphere of our Section
Overall, most of our members are hard worker and composed. I’m working in CVD process and here main members are in their 30’s and 40’s. They are very nice and patiently taught me how to operate CVD machine. I’m the youngest in this process, but they often take me to dinner after work, and I’m happy working here.
Engineering Section
Our responsibilities
Our section is divided into two parts. One is Manufacturing Engineering Team to take care of machines. The other one is Production Engineering Standardization Team taking care of processes and process conditions. Both teams together are responsible for maintaining and optimizing production of Obama Plant. A person in charge is assigned to each machine and process, who are, with operators, controlling and maintaining operation to gain high level of yield in each production process for various product types. In addition, we aim to reduce defects and improve process yield enabling an efficient and waste-less production process.
Atmosphere of our Section
The atmosphere is very lively and energetic. In recent years, young members are increasing, and we also have mid-career joiners, so we have a variety of talented resources. While working, we often discuss problems logically, so sometimes it is intimidating, but it is a friendly atmosphere especially during breaks.Regardless of job titles or positions, everybody gets along well.
Quality Control Section
Our responsibility
Our job is to maintain high quality. We are responsible for conducting inspections and verification of various products and production processes by conducting inspections of our products, reliability evaluation, and analysis of defect products. Our section is divided into Quality Control Team and Inspection/Testing Team. Members are specifically involved in either Overall Quality Control, conducting tests on products, or evaluating reliability.
Atmosphere of our section
Many members are hard workers with strong sense of responsibility. Ages vary, and there are relatively more female employees. Since we conduct tests and analysis, we have many equipment that we usually do not find in a regular life. I think it is a worker friendly environment because we are provided with necessary equipment.
